Jinhae Naval Base Command established a perfect military readiness posture while developing a major island search operation for the inhabited and uninhabited islands around Jinhaeman Bay, Changwon-si, Gyeongsangnam-do, from March 28 to 29.

With 7 islands where enemy infiltration is anticipated included in the area under the responsibility of JNB, the operation has been arranged to learn search and reconnaissance procedures related to the islands’ topography and natural features for operational soldiers, as well as to block any attempts by the enemy to infiltrate and hide.

The operation was participated in by around 160 military, police and reserve fighting forces including soldiers from the harbor defense squadron and land security battalion, Changwon Coast Guard and local reserve forces, and 5 vessels. In particular, the combined forces of military, police and the reserves carried out precision searching around target areas where enemy soldiers are expected to hide in the islands, and conducted a search for any signs of enemy penetration. They also handed out pamphlets to island residents with information on how to report on suspicious people, and encouraged them to be aware of possible infiltration through reporting network inspection and education.
