In addition, the excavation team identified 71 remains from May 3rd to May 9th, bringing the total number of pieces discovered since April 1st to 163.

The identification tag believed to have belonged to a French soldier fallen in the Korean War is marked as ‘MOALIC. Further remains that are discovered will be delivered to the MND Agency for KIA Recovery and Identification to carry out a detailed examination and DNA analysis for identification.

“We will continue to recover the remains of the fallen soldiers, and pledge to treat them with honor. We will also carry out a detailed examination and identification to bring them back to the bosoms of their families as quickly as possible,” the MND said.
