Acting president inspects military readiness posture

- Acting President Choi Sang-mok emphasized the maintenance of unwavering deterrence against North Korea amid a grave security situation.

 

Acting President Choi Sang-mok visited the command control center of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and inspected iys military readiness posture at 10 o’clock on February 7 (Friday).

The meeting was attended by Acting Defense Minister Kim Seon Ho, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Kim Myung-soo, chiefs of staff of the Army, Navy and Air Force, Deputy Commander of ROK/U.S. Combined Forces Command, and the Commander of Marine Corps, with corps commanders or above joining by teleconference.

 

In the meeting, Acting President Choi Sang-mok stressed the importance of an “unwavering military command structure” amid the current grave security situation and urged the military to establish and maintain a firm defense readiness posture to respond to any provocations from North Korea.
