Acting President Choi Sang-mok visited the command control center of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Emphasized to key commanders having an “unwavering readiness posture.”

Urged morale-boosting efforts through communication with soldiers.

On January 7, Acting President and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok visited the command control center of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to inspect its military readiness posture and had a meeting with key commanding officers including Acting Defense Minister Kim Seon Ho and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Kim Myung-soo. Provided by the Ministry of Economy and Finance

On January 7, Acting President and Minister of Economy and Finance Choi Sang-mok urged key military commanding officers, including Acting Defense Minister Kim Seon Ho and Council of Joint Chiefs of Staff Kim Myung-soo, to maintain “unwavering deterrence against North Korea.”

Acting President Choi visited the command control center of the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the morning and inspected its military readiness posture.

Present at the meeting were the acting defense minister, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Navy Chief of Staff Yang Yong-mo, Air Force Chief of Staff Lee Young-soo, Acting Army Chief of Staff Ko Chang-jun, Marine Corps Commander Ju Il-seok. and commanders of corps and above by teleconference

Choi requested a firm military defense readiness posture amid a grave security situation.

He stressed, “The military must maintain a readiness posture to make an immediate response to any provocations from North Korea while establishing an unwavering military command structure.”

Choi specifically requested that commanders engage in regular communication with soldiers to maintain high morale.

He also said that despite an unstable domestic situation, the military should conduct training as planned and operate units smoothly, and remain dedicated to its fundamental duties without becoming dispirited.

Acting President Choi instructed commanders to make every effort in their respective positions to ensure that the public remains confident about national security in these grave circumstances.
