Marine Corps 2 Division, also known as ‘the rising regiment,’ will be carrying out Marine mission-type drills at the Daegot-myeon land surprise attack training center in Gimpo, Gyeonggi Province, even in the current heat wave.

The training begins on August 24th and lasts until September 4th.

The planned training will nurture the fighting spirit of the Marine Corps by helping them to master surprise land attack combat operations and develop the strong combat stamina required to overcome this heat wave.

Starting with coastal combat guards, soldiers are mastering battle performance through basic training such as PT basic fitness training, boat disassembly and assembly, boat transportation, and maritime maneuvers.

In addition, the marines have cultivated their ability to overcome the challenges of the battlefield environment by conducting rubber boat concealment exercises and training to cope with the mud formed in the west coast foreshore, etc.

Prior to the training, officers in the unit were trained by an instructor in order to maximize the effectiveness of the training and avoid safety accidents.

In addition, training participants were given preliminary training on risk factors in the marine environment and safety incidents that could occur during training, as well as training on first aid measures.

Yong-hee Jung (Lieutenant Colonel), the commanding officer who participated in the training, said "This drill was carried out with the characteristics of the operation area in mind, particularly the large tide interval and wide mud area. This gave us an opportunity to establish the strengths of the Marine Corps, who can win in any situation."
