The 6th National Pilots, Flying through the Autumn Sky on a Domestic Airplane

Four of the "Sixth National Pilots" boarded an air force domestic aircraft and achieved their dream of flying. The Air Force held the "6th National Flight Pilot Flight Experience and Appointment Ceremony" at Seoul International Airport Aerospace & Defense Exhibition (Seoul ADEX 2017) at Seoul Airport on October 21st as one of the public events.

Cho Yang-hyun (Male · 51 · fire officer), Kim, Sun-young (Male · 36 · journalist), Sohn Seung-mok (Male · 54 · faculty), Song Hye-jin (female · 28 · office worker), who were chosen through the 144 to one competition, and four other members flew on the FA-50 and KT-1 at the Air Force 15 Special Mission Wing in the morning. In the afternoon, they each received a Letter of Appointment with the Air Force pilot's symbol "Red Muffler" and "Republic of Korea National Pilot" conferred by Lee Wang-ken, the Air Force Chief of Staff, at the ADEX event site.

Cho Yang-hyun and Kim Sun-young, who boarded the FA-50, and Sohn Seung-mok and Song Hye-jin, who boarded KT-1, took off from Seoul Airport and flew to Pyeongchang Alpensia and Kangnung Airfields to pray for the successful hosting of the Pyeongchang Olympic Games.

After this, the FA-50 fleet went to view the East Sea and the rugged mountains, and the KT-1 fleet went to Nami Island where the leaves are turning red. The fleet returned safely to the base after experiencing air combat and tactical mission maneuvers.

At the ceremony, Chief Lee, who personally tied the red muffler to the national pilots, said "Please cherish the valuable experience of flying the blue skies of Korea that you had today. "

"I am deeply grateful to the Air Force for allowing me to see Korea from the sky for a while. It was a nice break from the stress of my work as a firefighter," said Cho Yang-hyun after the flight.
