[Ministry of National Defense] 'Preventing corruption, the starting point of government policy'

The Ministry of National Defense held a workshop for approximately 200 anti-graft officers of the entire army at the Auditorium of the Ministry of National Defense.


This workshop was held to share the results of the first anti-corruption policy meeting and measures and changes for the settlement of the anti-graft law, and to improve the work capacity of the anti-graft officers. In his greeting, Seo Joo-seok, the vice-minister of the Ministry of National Defense, said, "This is the start of all the policies of the new government to deal with corruption." He called for measures to secure the accountability and integrity of high-ranking officials, the initiative of high-ranking officials and the thorough protection of internal reporters.


As the workshop was conducted in the order of, results of the anti-corruption policy council meeting and policies being driven and for examples of changes in the anti-graft law will be announced. A lecture on examples of interpretation of the anti-graft law by a member of the People's Rights Commission and cases of violation reports and processing will be given. There will also be a period to hear the questions and opinions of participants on anti-graft laws and anti-corruption policies.


In addition, eight awards were presented in the Defense Integrity Essay Contest held from July 20 to August 25. Major Lee Jung-geun of Intelligence Command was honored with the Grand Prize in 'Let's be true to our name, named by our father!'
