Marking the 71st anniversary of the Korean War, Minister Suh Wook visits Fleet Command to call for the maintenance of a firm military readiness posture and encourage soldiers

On the morning of Friday, June 25, Minister of National Defense Suh Wook called for a full readiness posture and encouraged soldiers during a visit to the Fleet Command (FC), which performs the duties of defending the Republic of Korea (ROK) seas and retaining the maritime control right.

Minister Suh met with main commanders and staff officers of the Navy, including the Chief of Naval Operations, at the command and control center of the FC, through a video teleconference (VTC).

“Our military’s duty is to maintain a firm readiness posture to defend the nation and protect the lives and properties of the people,” Suh said, after being briefed on the current operation and readiness situation.

Ending the conference, Suh encouraged the soldiers and called on them to “devote themselves to performing the duties assigned to them, remembering the patriotism of the fallen soldiers who sacrificed themselves to defend the freedom and peace of the homeland during the Korean War.”
