Republic of Korea and Oman hold defense ministers meeting

- Two sides discuss ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation on national defense and the defense industry

ㅇ On the morning of September 1, 2021 (local time), Minister of National Defense Suh Wook held bilateral talks with his Omani counterpart Sayyid Shihab bin Tariq bin Taimur Al-Said. At the talks, the two ministers discussed ways to strengthen bilateral cooperation on national defense and the defense industry.

Suh expressed special thanks to the Omani authorities for the support they provided to the Cheonghae Unit, which has been successfully engaged in its anti-piracy mission to support the safe navigation of international ships in the waters near Oman.

ㅇ Shihab said that he will work to advance the Omani working-level delegation’s visit to the ROK, expressing his hope for cooperation on the cutting-edge weapons system led by the ROK, in addition to bilateral cooperation in the area of conventional forces, which has been under discussion.
