ROK, Oman hold bilateral meeting on the sidelines of ｢Seoul ADEX 2021｣

On Wednesday, October 20, Minister of National Defense Suh Wook held a bilateral meeting with the Defense Secretary-General of Oman, Mohammed bin Nasser bin Ali Al Zaabi, who was visiting the Republic of Korea (ROK) to participate in the ‘Seoul International Aerospace & Defense Exhibition 2021 (Seoul ADEX 2021).’ At the meeting, the two exchanged opinions on the main pending issues on national defense and defense industry between the two countries.

Expressing appreciation for the high-level personnel exchanges between the ROK and Oman in the areas of national defense and foreign affairs, the two sides agreed to work harder to ensure that the friendly relations between the two countries can contribute to bilateral cooperation in the areas of national defense and the defense industry.

Suh expressed his special thanks to the government of Oman for its active support for the Cheonghae Unit, which is working actively to secure the freedom of navigation and the safe activities of vessels despite the COVID-19 pandemic, and asked the government of Oman to continue to cooperate so that the Cheonghae Unit can continue to work safely and successfully.

Responding to Suh, Al Zaabi said that the government of Oman hopes to share the ROK’s advanced defense industry technology and experiences in various areas, such as conventional military power and high-tech weapons systems.
