Vice foreign and defense ministers visit the US Missile Defense Agency on the sidelines of 「3rd High-Level EDSCG」 and discuss ways to contribute to extended deterrence

On September 14 (local time), First Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Cho Hyeon-dong and Vice Minister of National Defense Shin Beom-chul visited the United States (US) Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the sidelines of their participation in the ｢3rd ROK-US High-Level Extended Deterrence Strategy and Consultation Group (EDSCG)｣.

Cho and Shin met with Executive Director of the MDA Laura DeSimone, and took time to check the MDA’s missile defense capabilities and posture.

The two vice ministers were briefed on the MDA’s current situation of research and development and various missile defense systems that the MDA is operating in the field, and discussed ways to contribute to the extended deterrence.
