ROK, China hold 9th ceremony to repatriate the remains of Chinese troops

 


At 10 a.m. on the morning of Friday, September 16, the Republic of Korea (ROK) and China held the 9th ceremony to repatriate the remains of Chinese troops at Incheon International Airport, with Second Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Lee Do-hoon and Chinese Vice Minister of Veterans Affairs Chang-Zhengguo in attendance as representatives of the two countries.


 

Through the ceremony to repatriate the remains of Chinese troops, the ROK military has repatriated 88 sets of remains of Chinese troops (including 51 sets of remains and 837 articles discovered at Arrowhead Hill) discovered in the course of the ROK military’s remains excavation work since 2019.


 

The Ministry of National Defense will continue to repatriate any remains of Chinese troops found in the course of the ROK military’s remains excavation work to China.
