Two sides discuss ways to expand and intensify ROK-Slovakia cooperation in the areas of national defense and the arms industry, and affirm Slovakia’s support for North Korea’s denuclearization

In the afternoon of September 21, 2022, Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup held ROK-Slovakia defense ministerial talks with his Slovakian counterpart Jaroslav Nad, who was visiting the Republic of Korea (ROK) to participate in the Defense Expo Korea (DX-K), and they exchanged opinions on the recent security situation, as well as bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the areas of national defense and the arms industry.

With a reminder that the next year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the two ministers agreed to expand cooperative ties in the areas of national defense and the arms industry.

Lee expressed his gratitude for the Slovakian government’s continued support for the ROK government’s North Korea policy to denuclearize North Korea and build peace on the Korean Peninsula, and called for continued support in the future.

In response, Nad promised that Slovakia will provide its best possible support to achieve North Korea’s denuclearization and achieve peace on the Korean Peninsula.
