Defense minister visits site damaged by Typhoon ‘Hinnamnor’ and encourages soldiers engaged in restoration work

Minister Lee orders soldiers to remain committed to providing military support to civil authorities to help residents damaged by the typhoon return to normal

On the morning of Friday, September 9, Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup visited Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do to survey the damage done by Typhoon ‘Hinnamnor’ and encouraged the soldiers from many Army units, including the 1st Marine Division and the ROK Army Special Forces (ROK-SF) which have devoted themselves to providing military support to civil authorities.

“I feel safe and am sincerely proud of you who are committed to giving military support to civil authorities, even during this Chuseok holiday, for the residents who have been damaged by this typhoon,” Lee said, as he encouraged the soldiers.
