ROK Navy takes part in multilateral Pacific Dragon-22 exercise

The navies of the Republic of Korea (ROK), United States (US), Japan, Australia, and Canada conducted the multilateral Pacific Dragon exercise** near the waters of the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF)* in Hawaii from August 8 to August 14, 2022.

Taking the exercise as momentum, the ROK, US, and Japan conducted the missile warning and ballistic missile search and tracking exercise to respond to North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats.

To conduct the exercise, the three countries shared information on the tactical data link,** in keeping with the procedures of the ROK-US-Japan Trilateral Information Sharing Agreement (TISA).*

The missile warning and ballistic missile search and tracking exercise was conducted in line with the agreement made among defense ministers of the three countries in Singapore on June 11. Following the exercise, the three countries reaffirmed the mutual commitment to making progress in trilateral security cooperation to respond to North Korea’s provocations, defending the common security and prosperity, and maintaining the rules-based international order.
