Defense minister conducts field guidance on ROK-US combined forces command wartime command post

Minister Lee checks combined defense readiness and encourages ROK and US soldiers

On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 23, Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup visited the wartime command post (CP-TANGO) of the ROK-US Combined Forces Command to check the combined defense readiness and encourage the ROK and US soldiers who are taking part in the joint exercise.

After being briefed on the situation of the ROK-US joint exercise (UFS), Lee asked the soldiers to “establish a 'Fight Tonight' combined defense posture by working shoulder to shoulder and committing to the joint exercise,” stressing that “a firm ROK-US combined defense posture forms the backbone of the ROK-US alliance; you are genuine heroes and a symbol of the ROK-US alliance.”
