21st meeting of Korea-US Integrated Defense Dialogue (KIDD)

Defense ministries of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United States (US) plan to hold the 21st meeting of the Korea-US Integrated Defense Dialogue (KIDD) at the main building of the Ministry of National Defense in Seoul from August 16 to 17, 2022.

During the meeting, the two sides will discuss the full range of security issues between the allies, including ▴expanding policy cooperation to deter and respond to North Korea’s nuclear and missile threats, ▴enhancing the capacity to implement the US extended deterrence commitment agreed at the ROK-US summit last May, ▴pushing forward with conditions-based OPCON transition, and ▴enhancing defense cooperation between the two countries to advance the global comprehensive strategic alliance.
