Defense minister checks the flood damage restoration site and encourages soldiers

Minister Lee asks to put all efforts into military support to civil authorities, securing the safety of soldiers

On the morning of Friday, August 12, Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup checked the flood damage restoration site in Seoul and offered words of encouragement to the soldiers supporting the efforts there.

“I am very proud that you are working hard and dedicating yourselves to the restoration of flood damage to protect the lives and property of the people,” Lee said.

Following the forecast that localized heavy rains will continue next week, the ministry has a plan to proactively push forward with military support to civil authorities by cooperating closely with the government and the local government, while working proactively to secure the safety of soldiers and subsidiary facilities.
