ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) 8th cyber security sectional conference will be held via video link

The Ministry of National Defense plans to hold the 8th cyber security sectional conference via video link during the ASEAN Defense Ministers’ Meeting-Plus (ADMM-Plus) from Tuesday July 5 to Wednesday July 6.

The Republic of Korea (ROK) was chosen as co-chair country together with Malaysia at the 5th meeting in 2020 on the basis of the accumulated outcomes from the sectional conference, and plans to perform its role for three years, up to 2024.

Eighteen countries, including ASEAN member countries, will take part in this sectional conference. At the conference, they will discuss concrete and practical ways to cooperate with each other, with regard to joint response to cyber security threats and the strengthening of cyber capabilities.

Significantly, the ROK plans to hold the first international remote cyber exercise* at the 9th meeting, slated for October, with the goal of strengthening the cyber and technology capabilities of member countries, and the member countries will check on the exercise plan during this meeting.
