Vice defense ministers of ROK and UK hold first ROK-UK defense strategic dialogue

On the afternoon of Monday, July 18, (local time), Vice Minister of National Defense Shin Beom-chul and his British counterpart Annabel Goldie held the first defense strategic dialogue between the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United Kingdom (UK) in London, UK.

The two sides placed great weight on this first holding of the ROK-US defense strategic dialogue as part of defense efforts to implement the 「bilateral framework for closer cooperation」 adopted during the ROK-US summit held last June.

The two sides agreed to boost regular bilateral meetings between the defense ministries and armed services of the two countries, with a view to implementing the 「bilateral framework for closer cooperation」 between the ROK and UK, and also agreed to beef up multilateral cooperation, including through the Seoul Defense Dialogue, slated to be held in Seoul in September.
