Defense minister Lee Jong-sup emphasized the need to establish a military  readiness posture, and encouraged soldiers during his visit to the Maritime Task Flotilla Seven

In the afternoon of July 20, Wednesday, Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup visited the Maritime Task Flotilla Seven to check on the military readiness posture and encourage its soldiers.

After being briefed on the status of operations, Lee emphasized that “the flotilla needs to have the capabilities and maintain its readiness to sternly deter and counter North Korean provocations by swiftly being deployed anywhere, without being limited to specific waters.”

Encouraging the soldiers of the Seoae Ryu Seongryong AEGIS destroyer, Lee stressed the importance of their mental readiness and equipment operation capabilities in “proving the genuine value of the Aegis destroyer as an advanced weapon system.”
