ROK, US hold ROK-US defense ministers’ meeting on the sidelines of the event to celebrate the completion of the Wall of Remembrance



On July 29 (local time), Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup and his United States (US) counterpart Lloyd J. Austin III will hold the ROK-US defense ministers’ meeting in Washington D.C., US. Top officials from the defense ministries of the two countries plan to attend the meeting.



At the meeting, the two sides plan to share the assessment of the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and have a broad discussion on various issues related to the ROK-US alliance, including the enhancement of the expanded deterrence capabilities as a follow-up measure of the joint statement at the ROK-US summit.



On the sidelines of his visit to the US, Lee plans to ▴ attend the ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Wall of Remembrance for the fallen in the Korean War, ▴ lay flowers at Arlington National Cemetery, and ▴ visit the Armed Forces Retirement Home) to express gratitude to the veterans’ sacrifices and dedications.
