ROK, Canada hold defense ministerial talks

In the afternoon of June 10, Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-seop held bilateral talks with his Canadian counterpart Anita Anand on the sidelines of the 19th Asia Security Summit (Shangri-La Dialogue) held in Singapore, and the two sides exchanged opinions on defense cooperation between the two countries, as well as on the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the region.

Lee explained the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula. In response, Anand promised that Canada will continue to provide proactive support to the cooperative efforts required for building peace on the peninsula, stressing that Canada has been contributing to achieving peace on the peninsula by faithfully implementing the UN sanctions against North Korea.
