Vice defense minister participates in 「Ukraine Defense Contact Group」 via video conference

On June 15, Wednesday, at 10 p.m., Vice Minister of National Defense Shin Beom-cheol participated in the 「Ukraine Defense Contact Group」 via video conference, presided over by United States (US) Defense Secretary Lloyd J. Austin Ⅲ.

With about fifty countries around the world in attendance, the meeting started with a briefing on the △ war situation in Ukraine, which was followed by △ sharing each country’s support status, and △ discussion on ways to cooperate in mid-to-long term support for Ukraine.

During the meeting, which was held on the sidelines of the NATO defense ministerial meeting, defense ministers from each country shared their views on the worsening Ukraine crisis and agreed to respond proactively to the Ukraine situation through cooperation with the international community.
