Defense minister visits men of national merit in VHS Medical Center

“We will take good care of and treat the men of national merit and their bereaved families with all our hearts”

On June 22, Wednesday, Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup visited the men of national merit hospitalized in VHS Medical Center to express his gratitude for their sacrifices and dedication to the nation.

Lee’s Wednesday visit was held to express his gratitude and consolation to the senior soldiers who had devoted themselves to protecting the nation, as June is the month of appreciation for patriots and veterans. His visit was conducted in a separate reception room in consideration of the COVID-19 situation.

Lee also visited Yoon Du-ho, father of the late Lieutenant Commander Yoon Young-ha who had died in the Second Battle of Yeonpyeong. “I would like to express my respect and gratitude for the dedication that has been transmitted from generation to generation. We owe the ROK as it exists today to those who have devoted themselves to the nation, like you and the late Lieutenant Commander Yoon Young-ha,” Lee said.
