JCS Chairman, Gen. Won had a bilateral meeting the U.S. JCS, Gen Mark A. Miley

Chairman of the Republic of Korea Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen Won, In Choul had a bilateral meeting at the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Headquarters, Camp Smith, Hawaii, with Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff, GEN Mark A. Milley, today.

The two leaders shared their assessments on the recent security  situations, and reaffirmed the robustness of the ROK-U.S. Alliance, highlighting that the Alliance remains as the linchpin of the peace, security, and stability on the Korean peninsula and the region. Also, the senior military leaders signed the Strategic Planning Directive developed in accordance with the new Strategic Planning Guidance.

The bilateral meeting was held with the intention to strengthen Chairman to Chairman communication by discussing ROK-U.S. Alliance issues, and to further enhance the combined defense posture.
