Defense minister presides over ceremony to mark the reinforcement of the Army Missile Strategic Command and the Air and Missile Defense Command

On Friday April 1, Minister of National Defense Suh Wook presided over a ceremony to mark the reinforcement of the Army Missile Strategic Command and the Air and Missile Defense Command.

The ministry reinforced the Army Missile Command and the Air Defense Missile Command by renaming them the Army Missile Strategic Command and the Air and Missile Defense Command, respectively, after a comprehensive consideration of the increased need to respond to the North’s shifting missile threats, our military’s advanced capabilities after the expansion of the key force, and the basic plan for Defense Reform 2.0.

Based on the reinforcement of the Army Missile Strategic Command and the Air and Missile Defense Command, our military will continue to strengthen its missile monitoring, striking, and response capabilities, and make efforts to actively respond to any threats, in preparation for the rapidly changing security environment.
