Defense minister meets with chair of NATO's Military Committee

In the afternoon of April 11 (Monday), Minister of National Defense Suh Wook met with Rob Bauer, Chair of North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Military Committee, at the main building of the ministry, and the two sides exchanged opinions on the security situation in the region, including on the Korean Peninsula, as well as ways to strengthen Republic of Korea (ROK)-NATO security cooperation.

Suh and Bauer made the assessment that the two sides have continued to strengthen their mutual cooperation in various areas, such as military drills, cyber security, and NBC protection, since the ROK took part in NATO as one of the international partner countries in 2006.

Suh explained the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula at the request of Bauer, and Bauer pledged continued support for our government’s efforts for peace and security on the Korean Peninsula.
