Defense minister awards government prize to men of merit in Operation Miracle

On Monday afternoon, April 25, Minister of National Defense Suh Wook awarded a government prize to the men of merit of the Ministry of National Defense (MND), Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) and Air Force, who had joined the ‘project for the evacuation of special contributors from Afghanistan to ROK (Operation Miracle),’ in the main conference room of the ministry.

This government award was given to public officials from four government departments, including the MND, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, and Ministry of Personnel Management, and soldiers, who had joined the project to evacuate and provide support for settlement to special contributors from Afghanistan. On the sidelines, the MND held an award ceremony, presided over by the Minister of National Defense, in order to emphasize the significance of ‘Operation Miracle’ and raise the honor and esteem of the men of merit of the MND, JCS, and Air Force.

“All of the personnel who joined Operation Miracle, including the awardees, have successfully carried out their duties. Thanks to this, all 390 of the special contributors from Afghanistan were rescued miraculously,” Suh commented, praising the awardees for their hard work.
