Defense minister Suh Wook holds ROK-Norway defense ministers meeting and talks with Norwegian foreign minister

On Tuesday afternoon, February 15 (Norwegian local time), Minister of National Defense Suh Wook and his Norwegian counterpart Odd Roger Enoksen discussed the regional situation, defense exchanges between the two countries, and a plan to expand bilateral cooperation in the defense industry, at a meeting of 「ROK-Norway defense ministers」 held in Oslo.

Noting that Suh’s visit was his first visit to Norway as ROK defense minister, and that the ROK-Norway defense ministers meeting was the first one to be held in nine years, the two ministers shared the assessment that this defense ministers meeting should provide momentum to invigorate defense exchanges and cooperation between the two countries.

Enoksen hoped to promote cooperation with the ROK in the areas of defense and defense industry, stressing that Norway and the ROK seek a similar stance by sharing values.

  
Earlier in the day, Suh held talks with Norwegian foreign minister Anniken Huitfeldt.

The two ministers exchanged opinions on the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the region, and agreed to cooperate closely in the areas of foreign affairs and security, stressing that the two countries seek a similar stance.
