ROK, UAE hold defense ministerial talks

On Friday, March 18, Minister of National Defense Suh Wook held the 9th Republic of Korea (ROK)-United Arab Emirates (UAE) defense ministerial talks with his UAE counterpart Mohammad Ahmed Al Bowardi at the main building of the ministry.

The two ministers shared their opinions on the regional situation and security environment of the two countries, and Al Bowardi reaffirmed that the UAE will provide unwavering support to the ROK government’s efforts for the denuclearization of and the establishment of a permanent peace regime on the Korean Peninsula.

Al Bowardi stressed that the ‘special strategic partnership’ between the ROK and the UAE is based on firm trust between the top leadership of the two countries. Specifically, the two sides agreed to continue to strengthen bilateral cooperation in the areas of defense and defense industry, citing that the ‘special strategic partnership’ is widening in a mutually-reciprocal way, centering on bilateral cooperation in the areas of defense and defense industry.
