ROK, France hold first working-level talks on space security

Two sides discussed ways to achieve and strengthen bilateral space security cooperation

The Ministry of National Defense said in a statement that the Republic of Korea (ROK) and France had held their first working-level talks on space security in Paris, France from March 17 to 18.

A follow-up to the two countries’ defense ministerial talks last February, the meeting was held to achieve and strengthen ROK-France space security cooperation.

This marks the first time the ROK military has held director-general working-level talks on space security with a country other than the United States. The meeting serves as a significant achievement in the ROK's efforts for diversification and expansion of international space cooperation.

The two sides discussed directions for the development of bilateral space cooperation while sharing space security policies, space capabilities, and international space protocols, and the need for exchanges of space professionals.
