Defense minister to visit France, Norway, and Lebanon (Dongmyung Unit)

- The ministry plans to strengthen bilateral cooperation in defense and defense industry, and conduct field guidance on Dongmyung Unit -

Minister of National Defense plans to visit France and Norway between February 13, 2022 (Sunday) and February 19, 2022 (Saturday) to discuss with the two countries a plan to invigorate defense cooperation and the pending issues on cooperation in the area of the defense industry, and visit Lebanon to conduct field guidance on the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Dongmyung Unit).

During his visit to France from February 13 (Sunday) to February 14 (Monday), Suh plans to discuss a plan for close cooperation between the two countries in the areas of defense and foreign affairs by holding an ROK-France defense ministers meeting and talks with French senator Christian Cambon, chief of the foreign affairs and defense committee.

Suh then plans to visit Norway between February 15 (Tuesday) and February 16 (Wednesday). This visit has been promoted at the official invitation of his Norwegian counterpart Odd Roger Enoksen, and is his first visit to Norway as the ROK defense minister.

Suh then plans to visit the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (Dongmyung Unit) from February 17 (Thursday) to February 18 (Friday) to provide field guidance to the unit dispatched overseas. He plans to conduct field inspection, including stressing the need for a thorough COVID-19 quarantine response posture and the implementation of missions under strict rules.
