Defense minister holds ROK-France defense ministers meeting and talks with French senator Christian Cambon, chief of foreign affairs and defense committee

On Monday, February 14 (French local time), Minister of National Defense Suh Wook and his French counterpart Florence Parly held an ROK-France defense ministers meeting in Paris, France.

The two ministers discussed a plan to build a ‘comprehensive partnership’ in the area of defense by fulfilling the agreement reached between the two countries at the ROK-France summit in 2018. Significantly, they agreed to strengthen mutual cooperation in new security areas, including space, cyber, and AI.

After the ROK-France defense ministers meeting, Suh held talks with French senator Christian Cambon, chief of the foreign affairs and defense committee.

Explaining the recent situation on the Korean Peninsula, Suh expressed thanks to the French Senate for its unanimous passage of a ｢resolution urging the French government’s effort to adopt the end-of-war declaration on the Korean Peninsula｣.
