UK Carrier Strike Group visits ROK

ㅇ With the seriousness of the recent COVID-19 situation, the defense ministries of the Republic of Korea (ROK) and the United Kingdom (UK) agreed that the UK Queen Elizabeth Carrier Strike Group would provide humanitarian support, a drill focused on disaster relief, and downscaled exchange activities, along with the ROK Navy, off the coast of the ROK, from August 30 to September 1, instead of touching at Busan.

ㅇ Despite its original plan to call at Busan, the UK Carrier Strike Group decided to conduct defense exchanges and cooperation off the coast following consultation between the two sides, considering the recent confirmed COVID-19 cases in the carrier strike group and the grave COVID-19 situation in the ROK.
