General Won, In Choul, Chairman of the ROK Joint Chiefs of Staff hosted H.E. Maria Castillo Fernandez, EU Ambassador to ROK, in the JCS headquarters on the morning of January 27th. The two leaders discussed the security environment on the Korean Peninsula as well as the direction for the ROK-EU military cooperation.

Ambassador Castillo Fernandez expressed her desire to further the ROK-EU strategic partnership between through continued military cooperation.

General Won extended his gratitude for the Ambassador’s endeavors to enhance the ROK-EU relations and expressed commitment to continue to work towards strengthening the ROK-EU military cooperation. General Won also asked for EU‘s continued cooperation and support for the various initiatives of the ROK government pursuing a complete denuclearization and permanent peace on the Korean Peninsula.
