Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup meets Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs

Discussion on strengthening bilateral defense and defense industry cooperation

On the afternoon of June 6 (Tuesday), Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup met with Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs Dr. Khalid bin Mohamed Al Attiyah at the Defense Ministry building.

Deputy Prime Minister Al Attiyah mentioned that today is Memorial Day in Korea and paid homage to the fallen Korean patriots and veterans who sacrificed their lives to defend the country.

The two ministers assessed that both countries have fostered a close partnership in economic sectors such as energy and construction for the past 49 years. Based on this, they established a consensus that they will seek practical cooperative ways by driving personnel exchanges and cooperation between branches of the military in the defense and defense industry sectors as well.
