Military to begin COVID-19 vaccinations (Pfizer vaccines) for soldiers under 30

The Ministry of National Defense is set to begin COVID-19 vaccinations (first and second doses of Pfizer vaccines) for service members under 30 years old between June 7 (Monday) and July 16.

This vaccination campaign will target service members who have consented to receive the vaccination, among the 414,000 soldiers and civilian workers under 30 years old, at 91 military vaccination centers, including military hospitals and division-level medical corps, across the nation for six weeks.

Minister Suh Wook said in a statement that “once this vaccination campaign is completed, about 87 percent (483,000 troops) of the country’s 550,000 troops are expected to be vaccinated, exceeding the military’s initial target of 80 percent,” and went on to stress that “the military will make its best efforts to successfully complete the vaccination campaign.”
