With the transportation of COVID-19 vaccines underway, on February 24 Minister of National Defense Suh Wook presided over the first meeting (videoconference) to check the daily vaccine distribution situation and military support posture.

The meeting was attended by officials from the transportation task force, the Ministry of National Defense, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the headquarters of each armed service, the Marine Corps Command, and the Special Operations Command.

The meeting started with a report on the progress of vaccine distribution, the current status of transportation·escort support, a storage management·security support briefing by the chief of the Logistics Planning Division of the ministry, and this was followed by a report on the main actions briefed by the chief officer of each function, and a closing speech from Minister Suh.

Minister Suh asked the related officials to “do their best to work proactively by monitoring and evaluating the vaccine transportation situation in real time,” encouraging them to work hard to achieve a complete mission readiness.

Starting from today, the ministry will be committed to fulfilling its vaccine transportation support mission by holding meetings to check military support to vaccine distribution twice daily (07:50 a.m., 17:00 p.m.).
