On the June 6th, Memorial Day, the Republic of Korean Navy’s 6th Air Wing visited the monument to the victims who died while fulfilling aerial missions in Navy and Marine Corps, located at Molgaewol Park, Cheongnim-dong, Nam-gu, Pohang in Gyeongbuk Province.

The ceremony was held to pay tribute to the victims who died in war to protect the country’s ocean and to be guided by their spirit of sacrifice and safeguarding the nation. The ceremony was attended by about 40 people, including Yoon, Ki-hui, a head of the 6th Air Wing, commanding officers and staff positioned higher than lieutenant commanders, the aerial leader of the 1st Marine Division, and command sergeant majors. Starting with a salute for the deceased patriots, the ceremony continued through a commemoration speech, an offering of flowers, and burning of incense. At the end of the ceremony, Pohang Metropolitan Chorus and all participants sang along to "Memorial Day Song."

“We promise to accomplish our missions, whenever they come and wherever they are, after going through excruciating training, so that we do not waste the efforts of all our senior comrades who were dedicated to protecting the nation’s ocean," said Yoon, Ki-hui, a head of the 6th Air Wing who led the ceremony.

Meanwhile, actual military personnel and the reserves of the 6th Air Wing visited the Seoul and Daejeon National Memorial Boards to pay their respects at cemeteries to the victims killed in aerial missions in the Navy and Marine Corps, and to pay tribute to the noble sacrifices of senior comrades on Memorial Day. In addition, the 6th Air Wing plans to promote raising the national flag (Taegeukki), special security lectures, etc. to reflect on the significance of "Safe guarding the Nation and Rewarding Patriots" in Memorial Month.
