Navy’s P-3C dispatched to Indonesia

On January 2, our Navy’s P-3C found six bodies assumed to be missing people during the search and rescue operation of the AirAsia plane that crashed into the Java Sea, and notified the Indonesian Fleet of the location.

The location was 10km northeast from the predicted point within a radius of 4km. The victims of this plane crash were retrieved by the Indonesian Fleet.

Our dispatched Navy has been allotted a search area and conducted the search and rescue operation for five hours each day in line with BASARNAS, the National Search and Rescue Agency of Indonesia.
