Defense Minister Lee Jong-sup joins breakfast meeting with Brookings Institution experts

South Korea’s Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup joined a breakfast meeting with foreign and security experts** at the Brookings Institution* on the 4th of November (Friday) morning (local time) to discuss the Korean Peninsula and regional and alliance issues.

The U.S. experts say there is concern that the continued provocations by North Korea are creating unprecedented tension on the Korean Peninsula, and that in this situation, it is very timely and significant for South Korea and the U.S. to issue a strong warning against North Korea at the ROK-U.S. Security Consultative Meeting (SCM) and to strengthen the U.S. extended deterrence strategy.
