Vice defense minister meets with Belgium chief of defense staff

Two sides discuss ways to expand defense cooperation between the ROK and Belgium, and affirm Belgium's support for the establishment of peace on Korean Peninsula

In the afternoon of Thursday, August 4, Vice Minister of National Defense Shin Beom-cheol met with Belgium chief of defense staff Michel Hoffman, and the two shared their view of the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and discussed ways to expand defense cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, Shin and Hoffman agreed to further reinforce defense cooperation between the two countries as historic allies, recognizing that Belgium has maintained an amicable relationship with the ROK in a range of areas since its participation in the Korean War.
