Defense ministry holds Defense Reform 2.0 promotion and evaluation meeting

-Participants discussed the future development direction for ｢Defense Reform 2.0｣ after an in-depth evaluation of accomplishments -

On Tuesday, May 3, the Ministry of National Defense held a meeting presided over by Minister Suh Wook to promote and evaluate the Defense Reform 2.0 initiative.

At the meeting, the participants confirmed the promotion plan for 2022 for each task in the ｢Defense Reform 2.0｣ initiative, and reaffirmed their willingness to promote the initiative through an in-depth evaluation of its accomplishments and progress.

The meeting also provided momentum to maintain the continuity of future defense reform and develop a new plan by distinguishing between the tasks needing continuous reflection after 2023 and the tasks needing new reflection. 

The ministry will advance its defense strategies to proactively address the future security environment and changes in defense conditions. To make this concrete, the ministry will work to develop an innovation plan based on advanced science and technologies, including setting up military strategies and concept of operation based on cross-service cooperation, and securing the next-generation regime switching military strength.
