Defense minister encourages Black Eagles pilots and officials

On August 30, Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup encouraged the Republic of Korea (ROK) Air Force aerobatic team, Black Eagles’ pilots and officials who have enhanced the prestige of the ROK and the armed forces by successfully conducting advanced aerobatics in different nations all over the world and widely promoted the excellence of a Korean-made supersonic aircraft (T-50).

The Black Eagles participated in Southport Air Show, RIAT Air Show, and Farnborough Air Show, which were held in the United Kingdom (UK) last July.

In addition, the Black Eagles have promoted amicable relations with the Air Forces of different countries through friendship flights with the UK Air Force's aerobatic team Red Arrows, Poland’s aerobatic team Orlik, Egypt’s aerobatic team SilverStars, and Philippines Air Force FA-50PH from July to August.

Significantly, the Black Eagles were the first foreign aerobatic team in the world to perform an air show in the airspace of Egypt's Pyramid district.

Recognizing their achievement, Minister Lee hosted the Black Eagles’ pilots and maintenance technicians and related officials who had returned home after successfully completing their duties for about 90 days, and spent time encouraging them.
