Top ROK-US-Japan defense officials reach trilateral agreement via phone conference

Top defense officials of the Republic of Korea (ROK), United States (USA), and Japan reached a trilateral agreement via phone conference at 8 P.M. on October 1, 2021.

Director of the Office of National Defense Policy of Ministry of National Defense Kim Man-ki (ROK), Assistant Secretary of Defense for Indo-Pacific Security Affairs Ely Ratner (USA), and Director of Defense Policy of Ministry of Defense Masuda Kazho (Japan) attended the conference as delegates for their respective countries. 

The delegates of the three countries shared their assessment on the security situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the region, including North Korea’s recent missile launches, and agreed to closely cooperate on future countermeasures.
