Building up actual operational capability against piracy

 

 

 

Chungmugong Yi Sun-sin Ham of the 19th Cheonghae unit, moving for Somali waters to support safe voyage of domestic and overseas vessels, had a combined pass exercise on anti-piracy operations with the Navy of Brunei and improve its operation performance on July 2.

 

With the deep water patrol frigate, DARULEHSAN and Chungmugon Yi Sun-sin Ham attending, the exercise was organized near Muara harbor to strengthen the anti-piracy operational capability of both Navies and establish a global cooperation system for international sea peace.

 

It is especially expected to upgrade the combined operational capability in the Gulf of Aden, by promoting friendship between both Navies through this kind of military exchange and building up the anti-piracy operational capabilities.

 

Chungmugong Yi Sun-shin, 19th Cheonghae unit, will arrive at Abu Dhabi port in the UAE and serve for full-out vessels escort, anti-piracy operations and safety support missions for deep-sea fishing vessels, after taking turns with Wang Gun Ham of the 18th.
