Perfect Korea-U.S. combined operation capabilities "leveled UP"

"Enhanced teamwork with Korea-U.S. combined training"


The Northward regiment, 17th Division, and U.S. 2nd Division cultivated perfect Korea-U.S. combined operation capabilities through combined air assault training.


This training, a part of five-day battalion comprehensive tactic training, was proceeded in particular to enhance combined operation capabilities with the U.S. Army and understand behavioral procedures for mission during the wartime.


For this training, the unit thoroughly prepared through pre-cooperation meetings with the U.S. Army many times. The U.S. Army's assets, 12 Black Hawk (UH-60) and three Chinook (CH-47) helicopters, were provided for the training.


Started with an ocean-leading group ensuring that the movement route of a helicopter is safe from the enemy’s provocation, the main force moved after the group’s confirmation. "Stand-by", "load", "air mobile" and "landing" followed next. According to the already organized schedule, they finished the training in success with on-board in perfect order and air mobile.


“It was an opportunity not only to grasp behavioral procedure for mission completion during wartime through this Korea-U.S. combined air assault training but also to upgrade Korea-U.S. combined operation capabilities with the combined training with the U.S. Army,“ said Colonel Kang Jeong-deok, commander of the Northward regiment.
