3rd ROK-US High-Level Extended Deterrence Strategy and Consultation Group (EDSCG)

The 3rd ROK-US foreign affairs and defense (2+2) high-level Extended Deterrence Strategy and Consultation Group (EDSCG)* meeting will be held in Washington D.C. (USA) on September 16, 2022 (US local time).

At the meeting, the vice foreign affairs and defense ministers of the two countries plan to discuss ways to pursue a comprehensive deterrence approach against North Korea, as well as ways to strengthen the effectiveness of extended deterrence, given the grave security situation on the Korean Peninsula.
