Defense Minister meets with members of the European Parliament’s Subcommittee on Security and Defense

Discussing issues of security cooperation between Korea and the EU

On the morning of December 19 (Monday), Minister of National Defense Lee Jong-sup met with members* of the European Parliament's Subcommittee on Security and Defense, and exchanged views regarding the security situations on the Korean peninsula and in Europe and methods for security cooperation between Korea and the EU.

Both sides were reminded of President Yoon Suk Yeol’s visit to the Madrid NATO summit in June for value diplomacy, and assessed that recent high-level exchanges between Korea’s Ministry of National Defense and the European Parliament have strengthened strategic communication and security cooperation between Korea and the EU.

Minister Lee explained Korea’s Indo-Pacific strategy, and delivered Korea’s stance that it will act as a responsible state in the Indo-Pacific region.
